The options in Chicago are plenty. Chicago offers a beautiful skyline, Lake Michigan, good food, and great shopping. It is a clean and friendly city.

Here are a few options about what to see and where to eat in Chicago. Almost everything is close-by and places are well-connected by buses and the subway. There are plenty of taxis too, but beware, most taxis are now charging a gas surcharge over the meter price.

What To See in Chicago

Sears Tower is synonymous with Chicago. Anyone can recognize the building by its prominent double white antennas sticking out at the height of 1,450 feet. It is the tallest building in the United States and the fifth in the world. Sears towers is now called Willis towers, although most Chicagoans refuse to call it that. Be sure to visit the Skydeck. It offers one of the best views of the Chicago skyline. Plus, it is quite an experience to look at the city from 1,353 feet. The skydeck is open April to September 9 a.m. to 10 p.m and October to March 10 a.m to 8 p.m. Visitors should purchase tickets 30 minutes before closing.

Next, see the bean! It is a one-of-a-kind structure made of reflective mirrors in the shape of a kidney bean. Prepare to be highly amused and take lots of pictures. Take a leisurely stroll in the park on a nice day and eat at the park food court for a quick and satisfying snack. On certain days, there are bands playing in the park. Different fairs, exhibitions, and festivals are also organized.

Also visit Navy Pier was built to provide transportation to all cities on the Great Lakes. It was also frequently used by the military during World War II. Navy Pier is a great recreational center and a hub of Chicago. It boasts of a 150-feet high ferris wheel. There is also a miniature golf course and a children's museum. One of its famous attractions, the Chicago Shakespeare Theater has a 500-seat courtyard theater and a 200-seat black box theater. There are also boat tours that offer dinner cruises and boat rides. Also, there are plenty of food options available on the Pier.

Then, Visit the observatory of the John Hancock Center. After the Sears towers, it is probably the most well-known building in Chicago.

Finally, visit Sue the dinosaur, the world's most complete Tyrannosaurus Rex! Learn about Native Americans, Ecosystems, fossils, pirates, Earth's features, natural disasters, the process of making diamonds, and even the story of chocolate! The museum is open everyday 9 a.m to 5 p.m.

Where To Eat in Chicago

South Water Kitchen is an all-American restaurant that offers sandwiches, salads, brick-oven pizzas, and American wine. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday. Dishes cost anywhere between $16-$25. It is located on 225 N.Wabash Ave.

For sports fans and beer lovers, there is West End Bar and Grill. There are 30 brews of beer, fresh pizzas, bar foods, plasma tv's, and plenty of deals. On Mondays, get any burger for $3 with a beer purchase.

Breakfast is served all day. at Victory's Banner. Specialties include French toast and omelettes. Soups, wraps and salads are also available. This is a vegetarian restaurant. It is located on 2100 W. Roscoe St.

For connoiseurs of cuisine, Le Titi de Paris is a reasonably-priced French restaurant that continues to delight its customers. Entrees range from $26-$30 and a business casual dress code is enforced. No jeans allowed. Be sure to reserve in advance. Foie gras, venison, goat cheese salad, scallops, sole and duck are its specialties.

Celtic Crown Public House has reasonable Irish food; every entree is under $9. It is located on 4301 N. Western Ave. There is also karaoke and a live DJ on Saturdays.
